2013 Anniversary song to my baby

8th year anniversary song for my husband. I wrote this in humor. Try to imagine this sappy song sung in the middle of a musical. :P

Oh Lord, thank You for this song. I know Phill will love it no matter how bad the recording sounds. :) Thank You for Your gift of marriage. You are a wonderful God and we praise You with everything we are. AMEN.

There is no one like you babe - jojo

There is no one like you, babe (first draft) | Muziboo

There is no one like you, babe (second draft) | Muziboo
There is nothing I can say
No new words
To tell how I feel
There is no one like you
There is no one like you, babe

There is nothing I can write
No new rhymes
To show how I know
There is no one like you
There is no one like you, babe

You are more than just amazing
More than just willing
More than just faithful
What's that word?
I don't know
There is no one like you

I can use some statements
to describe him
To display my love
There is no one like you
There is no one like you, babe

"You are my hero"
"Your body is so ripped"
"You are my desire"
"You're more than I dream of"
"There is no one like you, babe"

You are more than just amazing
More than just willing
More than just faithful
What's that word?
I don't know
There is no one like you

Gospel ABC - 2011

This was written in Jan 2011... Setting: a VBS type venue... Rock blues progression. My kids love this song. This song was a God song. The melody and words just came to me. I wrote and recorded this song in one night for a mock VBS project for a children's ministry class. This CD went to over 15 children ministers in that class. LORD I thank You and praise You for the saving gospel of Christ. You are an amazing musician. ;-)

Admit I have done wrong and fallen short
Believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God
Confess Im gonna sing, and shout, and tell
him her you and you and you and you

that Jesus is the One, the Christ, the Lord
the Light, the Truth, the Messiah,
He is the Son of God, the Savior, and King
the River of life, the One lifted high
I won’t be afraid to confess with my mouth
that Jesus is the One, the Christ, the Lord

Heal This Land Aug 2010

This was the first Christian contemporary song I wrote. I recently found out there are many "heal our land" or "heal this land" Christian songs around. I remember feeling distraught about our country and the direction our leaders were taking us. I was also studying the book of Isaiah at that point and his prayers of confession and agony really resonated with my heart. That's how the idea of this song was born.

Looking at the song now, I think this song is definitely still cooking in the green house. With that I mean some of the lyrics can be better, and I need to simplify the chord progression. The central idea is not very central... I need to refocus the song.

LORD Jesus, Thank you for this song. Please help me to refocus this song. Let the melody ring out and be pleasing to You. AMEN.

Take Root - 2011

HA! I forgot about this song. But I have a recording! I recorded this maybe June 2011? I wanted to take a jab at a faster song and I was at that point in my spiritual life fixated on rooting myself and my family in the Word of God. Revelation 22:16 says Jesus is the Root. Proverbs, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Matthew,...  the word "Root" fills 3 pages in this search! Anyway, here's the recording.

This song is ok. I am the words aren't that great. like the word "declared"... doesn't fit musically... the melody needs tweaking too. This song definitely needs to be stay in the green house.

LORD Jesus thank You for continuing to teach me about Yourself.

Take Root - jo koo | Muziboo

- v1,2 & bridge not in recording
You declared
You’re the vine
You’re Emmanuel
Turned water into wine
You proclaimed
You’re the One
The Messiah
and Your Father’s only Son
You have the power
to change me inside out
You are the answer
I know, Prince of Peace
Let me
take root root root
in Your word
in Your Kingdom
in the solid ground
hang on on on
onto You
to Your promises
Your righteousness
I declare
You’re the vine
You’re Emmanuel
Turned water into wine
I believe
You’re the One
The Messiah
and my God’s only Son
Hide me from the breath of every wind
let my roots stretch deep
Renew my Spirit with Your breath of life
My heart is fixed, O God
I will sing and give praise from within
