Star Wars arrangement for beginner strings and piano

I arranged this for my strings students because they were working on an excerpt of Star Wars for an audition. I wanted to make sure they use what they learned so I have included the excerpt in this beginning quintet for Star Wars. This could be played without piano. It is written in 4/4 instead of the original John Williams with changes in the time signature and irregular meters. Obviously, it contains only the first theme not the entire Star Wars movie theme.

i have never heard this piece played like this....

There's amazingly brilliant parts and there are brilliantly frustrating parts. There is no doubt Ivo is a brilliant and eccentric pianist. He is a pianist who is romantically involved with his pieces no matter from which era they are from! He doesn't care for what piece is supposed to be played like in its era. He plays it how it likes hearing it, which is refreshing and frustrating at the same time because as the audience I cannot control his playing. I have a certain taste and look forward to listening to some parts of this piano concerto played in a certain way. Anyway, here's Ivo and Tchaikovsky..... piano concerto in Bflat minor. It's crazy, just sayin'.

Well hello

I know I have been M.I.A. for almost a year. The computer keeled over one night a year ago and we didn't get it fixed till the beginning for this summer. It was a good time. The Lord called me on a trip, Abigail was baptized in November, adopted a dog, God spoke to my husband about adopting while I was in India, He used me to tell the gospel at my job, Esther accepted Christ one night in April, Isaac learned how to glorify God in his gymnastics meets, Phil took an interim pastor position, got promoted at the seminary, etc etc etc... No, the Lord has not stopped teaching me and I have not stopped learning! Here is one of the songs I wrote in India. Very rough but it's something.

Dear Phillip Koo:

 Thank you for being humble and living Eph5 out as a husband and father. Do you know what this means? This means when we stand at the throne of God, you will be able to present me, your wife, as blameless, holy, and pure, because of the ways you have led me. He will call you, "My good, and faithful servant."

 You are always open to the Lord's correction and I have learned to follow your footprints as you follow God's. I am excited to spend every single day with you, learning how to be like Christ, learning how to grow from our mistakes, and learning how to stand tall for believing in our risen Savior. Because of your example, I know what John meant when he said we love God because He first loved us.

 Your example makes my heart desire so much more to become the godly woman and mother God calls me to be. Lord, help me to become more pleasing to You and my husband each day.

 Thank You Lord for perfecting our faith and our love. You have chosen a man for me who is beyond everything and everyone I have ever met or read about.

 May the Lord bless you with many more years of service unto Him, faithful family, and wisdom which will open your eyes to unimaginable treasures and mysteries in His word.
